First tournament win for Fulda's TTBL ace Chuang since 2012
After twelve years, former doubles world champion Chuang Chih-Yuan from Bundesliga table tennis club TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell has won another international singles title. A few days before his 43rd birthday, the Taiwanese team world championship bronze medallist celebrated a 3:1 victory over Werder Bremen's Kazakh Bundesliga professional Kirill Gerassimenko in the final of the WTT feeder tournament in Beirut.
For Chuang, who has been playing for Fulda in the TTBL since the start of the second half of the season, the success in Lebanon's capital meant his first victory on the international stage since winning the title on the Pro Tour in Almeria, Spain, in 2012. The former top 10 player now has a total of five victories at Pro Tour and WTT tournaments to his name.
