Thirteen clubs apply for licences for the 2026/27 TTBL season
The twelve clubs in the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) have submitted their licence applications for the 2026/27 TTBL season within the deadline. TSV Windsbach is an additional applicant from the 2nd Bundesliga.
A total of thirteen clubs have submitted their licence applications for the upcoming 2026/27 season in the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) by the deadline. In addition to the twelve clubs that are already active in the TTBL in the current season, TSV Windsbach from the 2nd Bundesliga has also applied to participate in Germany's top division.
The first stage of the licensing process for the coming season is now complete. In the coming weeks, the thirteen applicants will now undergo the licensing review process, in which the clubs' legal, personnel, administrative, infrastructural and financial criteria will be examined.
In sporting terms, TSV Windsbach must finish first or second in the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the current 2025/26 season in order to qualify for promotion. If it finishes third, it will face a relegation play-off against the twelfth-placed team in the TTBL. TSV Windsbach currently leads the 2nd Bundesliga table with a four-point lead over second place. There are still five match days remaining in League 2.
