Leapmotor becomes partner of German Table Tennis Association

Together with the German Table Tennis Association (DTTB) and myTischtennis, the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) welcomes Leapmotor as a new strong partner: the Chinese electric car brand is entering the world of table tennis in Germany. The aim of the collaboration is to further strengthen table tennis across the board – from junior players to major national events.

The comprehensive partnership was sealed on the sidelines of the preview of the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Marty Supreme’ hosted by German record champions Borussia Düsseldorf with German table tennis icon Timo Boll, the official ambassador of German table tennis. He plays a small supporting role in the film.

In addition to the DTTB and the TTBL, the myTischtennis platform is also part of the partnership with Leapmotor. ‘Leapmotor thus has access to both popular and elite sports and receives tailor-made activations via existing digital channels,’ explains Lars Merle, managing director of Tischtennis Marketing Gesellschaft (TMG) since January and initiator of the partnership.

Joint impetus for table tennis in Germany

‘We are delighted to have found another strong partner for table tennis in Germany in Leapmotor,’ says Dr Wolfgang Dörner, Chairman of the DTTB. ‘Together, we want to provide impetus, further develop the sport and get even more people excited about table tennis.’

Leapmotor Germany CEO Martin Resch emphasises: "We are very happy that we can now start this cooperation. Table tennis is not only the number one national sport in China, but also a widespread hobby in Germany. The sport provides a great opportunity to engage with potential customers and contributes to our goal of being perceived as the most appealing Chinese car brand in Germany. For us, this is one of the keys to success in a highly competitive market."

Visibility in German table tennis

Leapmotor will be present in the TTBL at the Liebherr TTBL Final4 for the German Team Championship on 30 and 31 May 2026, among other events. ‘The TTBL stands for top performance and emotional live moments. As one of the strongest leagues in the world, we offer partners an attention-grabbing stage in German top-class sport with international stars,’ says TTBL Managing Director Nico Stehle.

One focus of the cooperation with the DTTB is on two established formats: the mini-championships and the German Table Tennis Finals (TT Finals). The mini-championships are the most successful promotional campaign for young talent in German sport. The TT Finals in Erfurt, Europe's largest table tennis festival, attract professionals, young players and amateurs alike.

Leapmotor will also be visible on myTischtennis.de, for example in connection with the Summer Team Cup for amateur teams. In addition, both myTischtennis and the TTBL reach an audience of millions digitally. ‘We are close to the table tennis community every day, both on smartphones and on screens. This proximity to our current 260,000 registered users enables targeted activations for our partners and at the same time creates real added value for our users,’ explains myTischtennis Managing Director Jochen Lang.

Table tennis and Leapmotor: a shared journey

"Our motto for our involvement in table tennis is: from grassroots to the top – so there are lots of ideas, because table tennis and the Leapmotor brand are simply a perfect fit. Approachability, dynamism and low barriers to entry are shared brand values. In short: table tennis is a sport for everyone, Leapmotor offers electric cars for everyone. We are very excited to see where our joint journey will take us," said Leapmotor Germany CEO Resch, looking ahead to the start of the collaboration.
