Dortmund celebrate crucial survival win on Lind’s return
Led by returning No. 1 Anders Lind, Borussia Dortmund beat fellow strugglers TTC OE Clarity-Telefonie Systeme Bad Homburg 3–1 on Wednesday night to leapfrog their direct rival. Lind improved his TTBL record to 7–0; Bad Homburg’s lone point came from Jo Yokotani.
BVB head coach Evgeny Fadeev had set the tone before the final TTBL block of the year: “Of course we want to take four points from the two games,” the 50-year-old said, looking ahead to the matchups with Bad Homburg and Bad Königshofen. Two wins would mean rejoining the pack in mid-table — and Wednesday brought the first step against a direct opponent.
Fadeev could once again rely on Anders Lind, who had missed the previous two matches. Because of his participation at the WTT Finals, the fixture had been rescheduled; the Dane returned with two 3–1 wins — over Juan Perez and, to seal it, over Jo Yokotani — and climbed to fourth in the TTBL ranking. “Anders did a good job,” teammate Kristian Karlsson said on Dyn.
BVB move past Bad Homburg
Karlsson himself secured the third, match-clinching point with a 3–1 win against Ivor Ban. Earlier, Yokotani had levelled with a straight-games victory over Cedric Nuytinck but, in the No. 1 showdown, missed the chance to force a deciding double. With the result, the two clubs who were both promoted in 2024 swap places: BVB rise to ninth, while Bad Homburg drop to tenth and risk slipping into the relegation zone.
The Taunus side, who qualified for the Liebherr Cup Final Four on 4 January 2026 in Ulm/Neu-Ulm after their upset of record winners Borussia Düsseldorf, face TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt on Saturday at 17:30. Dortmund, a few hours earlier (15:00) at bottom side TSV Bad Königshofen, aim to wrap up the year in style.
