Tom Jarvis transfers to ASC Grünwettersbach
In the final stretch of the TTBL first half of the season, ASC Grünwettersbach announces an important reinforcement: Tom Jarvis is joining ASC – and that's already for the second half of the season. The 25-year-old Englishman, currently number 1 at second division club 1. FC Köln, has signed a contract with the Karlsruhe TTBL club that is also valid for the coming season.
"I am delighted that Tom wants to make the move to the TTBL with ASC. We have had our eye on him for over two years, which is why we are all the more pleased that the transfer is already taking place in the second half of the season. A big thank you to 1. FC Köln Tischtennis for making this early transfer possible," said ASC boss Martin Werner.
Tom Jarvis, who was only stopped in the final at the WTT Feeder in Düsseldorf, is
currently number 71 in the world rankings and has already defeated several top players in his career to date. With him, ASC coach Kilian Ort gains a player who can be used flexibly in all positions, making the team more difficult to predict.
ASC coach Kilian Ort is also pleased: “I'm delighted that Tom has chosen ASC. Even though the step up from the second division to the TBL isn't always easy, I'm confident that he'll quickly settle into the top flight. Many thanks to the ASC management team led by Sandra and Martin Werner for their great work, and also to the Cologne officials for their excellent cooperation.”
This additional versatility will be particularly valuable once Ricardo Walther is able to return to the table after his two disc surgeries. Jarvis will compete for points in an ASC jersey for the first time on January 11, 2026.
Tom himself is also looking forward to his new role with great anticipation: "Playing in the TTBL has been one of my goals for many years. That's why I'm very happy to finally get the chance to take on this new challenge. I've seen many ASC games, and the atmosphere and support from the fans are great. I can't wait to play there and hopefully get some wins in front of all the fans!"
