The semi-finals are set: what all fans can look forward to

TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen, the fourth participant in the Liebherr Cup Final Four 2024, was announced on Monday. All fans can look forward to numerous top stars and an exciting title match on January 7. Tickets for the top event in the ratiopharm arena Ulm/Neu-Ulm are available from €15.

The quarter-finals of the German Table Tennis Cup went surprisingly well: The teams secured their place in the Liebherr Cup Final Four, in which the first title of the year will be decided on January 7, with four 3-0 victories. It is unlikely to be quite so clear-cut again: With Borussia Düsseldorf, 1. FC Saarbrücken TT and TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen, the dominant teams of recent years have secured their place in the semi-finals, and ASV Grünwettersbach has also proven on several occasions that it is good for a surprise - for example by winning the cup in 2020.

For all fans, this means that in addition to the presence of numerous top stars such as Timo Boll, Patrick Franziska and Hugo Calderano, the ratiopharm arena Ulm/Neu-Ulm is also guaranteed to be full of excitement. The cup fever among the teams involved is likely to be dangerously high, and one or two scores are still open. Saarbrücken, for example: The FCS lost the Liebherr TTBL final against Düsseldorf in July and now wants to take revenge by winning the cup. Franziska and Co. will face Ochsenhausen in the semi-finals, with a possible clash with Borussia in the final. Or Düsseldorf: The record cup winners have recently had to give way to other teams twice, last year to TTC Neu-Ulm and before that to Saarbrücken. In 2024, they are now aiming to win the cup for the 28th time in the club's history.

Final Four on January 7: Tickets available from €15

If you want to be there live at the Liebherr Cup Final Four on January 7 and cheer on the top stars as they battle for the title, you should take a look at our ticket store. Tickets for the Final Four cost €15 in the cheapest category (concessions €13.50). Last year, around 5,000 fans flocked to the ratiopharm arena Ulm/Neu-Ulm, setting a record attendance for the organizing Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL). There were no more tickets available at the box office at the time. So be quick this year too!

There will be a little appetizer for the semi-final between Düsseldorf and Grünwettersbach in the TTBL next Thursday, 23 November, when the two clubs face off on Matchday 8. It will be a special match for Dang Qiu: The European champion was one of the decisive players in Grünwettersbach's cup coup in 2020, but he is still waiting for his first cup win in a Borussia jersey. The TTBL first round match between Saarbrücken and Ochsenhausen, on the other hand, has already been played, with the FCS coming out on top 3:1 in mid-October. However, the TTF were without Hugo Calderano at the time, who is likely to be a permanent fixture for January 7. After all, Calderano's name is closely associated with the most recent cup triumph: In 2019, the Brazilian teamed up with Simon Gauzy to lead the Swabians to their fourth cup win in the club's history.

And this time? The decision will be made on January 7!
