ASC signs Tao-Yu Chang
Having secured its place in the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL), ASC Grünwettersbach is continuing to move forward with its plans for the upcoming season. With the signing of Tao-Yu Chang, the Karlsruhe-based club has secured the services of an internationally experienced player who is expected to strengthen the team in the TTBL.
The 22-year-old Chinese player is moving to Baden from the Spanish club Priego Tenis de Mesa and brings valuable experience on the international stage. Tao-Yu Chang most recently made a name for himself in the Champions League. In the top-tier competition, the penholder player secured victories against established top players such as Anton Källberg and Li Yongyin, among others.
“We’ve been watching Tao-Yu for quite some time and are convinced of his qualities. He brings a lot of what we envision for our game, and we believe he will continue to develop with us,” said ASC officials.
Following the departure of Hiroto Shinozuka, ASC Grünwettersbach is responding strategically to the demands of a long and intense TTBL season. With Tao-Yu Chang, the squad will now include a player who is not as heavily tied to international tournament series such as the WTT.
