Bad Königshofen celebrates win in Bergneustadt

TSV Bad Königshofen made a clear statement on the 10th match day of the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL). The bottom-of-the-table team won surprisingly clearly 3-0 at TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt and collected important points in the fight to stay in the league.

Daniel Habesohn made a statement right from the start. He defeated Benedikt Duda in four sets and laid the foundation for the visitors' success. “The opening victory was crucial,” commented Habesohn. “We have only been able to take advantage of a few opportunities so far this season. It is extremely important that we were successful today.”

Bad Königshofen remained stable in the second singles match as well. Although Bastian Steger lost to Adrien Rassenfosse in the second set, the veteran left little doubt about his superiority overall and increased the visitors' lead to 2-0 with a 3-1 victory. This put Bergneustadt under pressure.

Ruiz misses comeback – Zeljko seals the deal

In the third match, the hosts had another chance to get back into the game. Romain Ruiz was initially trailing Filip Zeljko 0-2 in sets and 2-7 in points, but he kept fighting and forced a deciding set. However, the Croatian prevailed and secured Bad Königshofen's third point of the evening.

The hosts were understandably disappointed. “Our opponents played very well today and were in top form,” said Duda. “You can tell that the season has already been very long for us. We made the wrong decisions in important situations. Bad Königshofen made good use of the break and put in a strong performance today.”

For TSV Bad Königshofen, this success brings new hope after a difficult few weeks. Bergneustadt, on the other hand, misses the chance to keep up with the leading group and must quickly put the defeat behind them.
